I will post 52 weeks of photos where I hope you can transform your “beingness” and reduce pain. The latest brain research on mind/body healing indicates: Looking at an image, scene, or object, that we find pleasing may lower our blood pressure, stress hormones, and increases our endorphins, the body’s feel good hormones. May these images bring you inner peace, self compassion, and a moment of rest from your pain. Please take a moment to leave a comment to let me know how the experience of viewing the photo affected you. Here is my first entry titled, May you find Peace.
I’ve been having an increase in back pain. It’s hard to see beauty when your days are consumed by limited movement and pain (the thorns of my life). I had a “good day” this week and walked across the street to the lake. The colors were beautiful in the late afternoon and I felt recharged. Hope you can find beauty and moments of peace despite the thorns in your life.
When I think of the happiest moments of my life, they are simple moments of music, fragrance, or taste. I can’t help but remember a car trip with my family, four sisters, and pregnant mom, grandmother, and dad, packed into a blue Chevy station wagon driving to North Carolina. We stopped along the way and picked Gardenias and wore them tucked behind our ears, I have been addicted to them ever since! The bouquet I chose for our wedding was Gardenias, even though they were out of season, my mother-in-law, Angie, found a way to make it happen for me. That is a really nice memory!
I hope you have many happy memories you can call upon when the going gets tough!
